SELLER STORY

Mark Fenley spent his entire life doing what he loved - farming the land around Troy, Kansas. From the time he was a little boy, he dreamed of being a farmer. He often snuck away to his grandparents' home to spend time with his Grandpa Archie Sr., who inspired his love of farming and taught him to always leave the land better than you found it.

While Mark was attending Kansas State University and earning his degree in Agricultural Economics, his beloved grandpa passed away, but his influence remained with Mark throughout his life. After graduating from K-State, Mark returned home to build the family's farming operation.

He was a one-man army and was known for being the first to plant, the first to apply anhydrous, and one of the first to harvest. He liked to joke that he'd "only read one book," but he was always reading about the latest farming practices and equipment. It wasn’t uncommon for him to watch a TV and iPad documentary simultaneously. Mark was also one of the first in the area to adopt no-till farming. Although it was met with skepticism at first, many local farmers later came to appreciate the practice.

In 1988, Mark married his wife, Marillyn, and together they raised four children while making the farm the center of their family's life. He was known for his honesty, quick wit, and strong work ethic. Away from the farm, he enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson with Marillyn, spending weekends at Big Lake, Missouri, smoking meat for family and friends, and making memories with his grandchildren.

The equipment in this auction reflects decades of hard work, innovation, and pride of ownership. The Fenley family is honored to offer this lineup through BigIron and hopes it serves its next owners as well as it served Mark.
